The Root amidst Good and Evil

Science is not the problem in our ecological destruction. Rather it is simply a question of our will.

To examine carbon argument, I drew on the ancient text, these drawings are meant to draw us into the questions posed by the serpent.

How would you answer?

Now the serpent was the shrewdest of all the wild beasts….“

The serpent said to the woman,

“ You are not going to die, but __ knows that as soon as you eat of it your eyes will be opened and you will be like a divine beings who know good and bad.

When the woman saw that the tree was good for eating and a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was desirable as a source of wisdom, she took of its fruit.

The serpent frames for us, our immense desire for all the power and all the knowledge, his appeal is easy with no thought for ramifications. Do we continue today on that path for the quest for ultimate control, with no restrictions on our desires and to what end?

Carbon is the marker for the age of life and carbon in our atmosphere may well mark how we answer questions and reveal our collective folly. How will we manage this global garden? Yes, the one we killed for, flagged, conquered, divided, packaged, burned, plowed, planted, cut, sold, annexed and used?

Our lust for power has a price.
